Consultation on Proposed Changes to the Library Provision at Avenues Library

Background:

The Avenues Library is currently delivered from a converted shop unit at 76 Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, HU5 3TS.  It is a small well used building, needing some renovation.

Hull City Council has been working in partnership with the Goodwin Development Trust and the Avenues Centre Support Group to bring forward proposals to renovate the Avenues Centre on Park Avenue, Hull.

The Goodwin Development Trust working with the Avenues Centre Support Group have developed a proposal that includes relocating the current Avenues Library to the Avenues Centre as part of a community arts hub.

The Council wishes to consult on this proposal in order to understand the views of the local community prior to making an informed final decision on the project.

Consultation:

This consultation seeks your views on the following:

a) Leave the Avenues library at its current location.

OR

b) Relocate the Avenues library to the Avenues Centre, Park Avenue, Hull.

To take part in the consultation please complete the survey - www.hullcc.gov.uk/consultations. The online consultation is open until the 9th September 2018.

You can also complete a paper copy of this survey at any Hull library.  The closing date for this is 8th September 2018.

We will also be holding a number of public meetings (dates/locations to be agreed) to enable you to ask questions and discuss the proposals.
