Duty Managers:

Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd are seeking Duty Managers for the Theatre and Halls service consisting of two of Hull’s premier venues - Hull City Hall and Hull New Theatre which host diverse world-class programmes of events for all within the region and further afield. 

The successful candidate will join the service at an exciting time following reopening after recent temporary closures due to Covid-19 restrictions and to continue to build upon recent successes since Hull’s year in the spotlight as City of Culture in 2017 and major refurbishment of Hull New Theatre. 

The role is to provide supervisory venue and event management within the theatre and halls venues during the designated shift for effective running of the facility and events. 

Day to day tasks include: Responsible for carrying out the shifts operational health and safety systems and procedures, following the procedures in place and ensuring other staff on site do the same.  Supervising the staff on shift and responding to customer enquiries passing on issues that cannot be dealt with to Assistant Operations Manager or Operations Manager. 

Acting as the frontline face of the service to the public dealing with complaints and incidents in an effective manner in line with agreed policies.   Ensuring that the site is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.  Responsibility for front line and back-of-house services and working together with other Managers to ensure healthy and safe environment for customers, visitors, performers, touring companies and contractors  Supervision includes responsibility for operational health & safety, staff supervision and customer care.

We are looking for confident, friendly candidates with excellent communication skills, ideally with a background entertainment and guest experience management.  Keen interest in the arts and entertainment industry is desirable. 

A flexible approach to working hours and willingness to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends is essential as evening and weekend work will be required on a regular basis.
