Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Programming and Events Assistant for the Theatre and Halls service consisting of two of Hull’s premier venues - Hull City Hall and Hull New Theatre which host diverse world-class programmes of events for all within the region and further afield.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in developing the programme and profile of both venues following recent temporary closures due to Covid-19 restrictions and to continue to build upon recent successes since Hull’s year in the spotlight as City of Culture in 2017 and major refurbishment of Hull New Theatre.

The role is to assist with the booking, co-ordination and promotion of Hull New Theatre and Hull City Hall’s diverse programme of events and activities.

The candidate will proactively research and recommend new programming opportunities alongside creating and maintaining local, regional and national partnerships which will assist in enhancing the artistic reputation and profile of the venues.

Day to day tasks will include assisting with all booking, contractual and administrative matters & dealing with enquiries to hire the venues to maximise usage and meet financial targets

Applicants should have excellent organisation and communication skills, strong IT skills, relevant experience in a similar role and a keen interest in arts and entertainment.

Due to the nature of the entertainment industry a flexible approach to working hours is necessary including occasional unsocial hours including evenings and weekends.  Initially it is likely that working hours will be split between working remotely and within office/venue settings.

Initial 6 month fixed term contract
