Schools and Community Learning Officer – Guildhall Time Ball

Are you passionate about sharing your enthusiasm for heritage through creative learning and community engagement? Hull Culture and Leisure LTD are looking for a dynamic Schools and Community Learning Officer to bring the story of the Guildhall Greenwich Time Ball to life through the delivery of an NLHF activity plan, making it relevant to local communities.

Hull’s Guildhall Greenwich Time Ball on the top of the Guildhall Tower was once an iconic symbol of Hull’s maritime heritage, as it aided sailors, merchants and navigators in calibrating their location, enabling sea travel across the globe. The Time Ball, however, worked only briefly in the early 20th century, and now sits forgotten against the city’s skyline. Through generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Hull City Council will restore the time ball, bringing it back into full working order, and back into public consciousness, complementing Hull’s Maritime cultural renaissance.

As School and Community Learning officer you will have experience of developing and delivering heritage engagement programmes across a range of formal and informal learning audiences including schools, young people, BAME communities and volunteers. You will have the ability to communicate across identified target audiences, partners and stakeholders and support volunteers and placements to deliver project outcomes.

Hull Culture & Leisure is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.

Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd reserve the right to close any recruitment campaign before the advertised closing date.
