The Big Malarkey Festival is a celebration of children’s literature, stories and illustration, created by Hull Library Service for children, families and schools.

THE BIG MALARKEY FESTIVAL

Join us on our beautiful site on East Park from 26 - 27 June 2021, to meet authors and illustrators, poets and performers, musicians and story tellers, and have a go yourself in practical hands on workshops.

Our schools programme runs from Monday 21 - Friday 25 June and includes the James Reckitt Hull Children’s Book Awards and a great line up of workshops and performances for nursery to KS3.

The family weekend (26th & 27th June) presents two jam-packed days of activities, for anyone age 0 – 16 who has ever enjoyed a good story! From puppetry to zines to animation to the latest technology in our Makerspace tent, there’s something for everyone at The Big Malarkey Festival.

Watch this space for updates on the 2021 festival or go to www.thebigmalarkeyfestival.com to subscribe to our newsletter.
