The open exhibition has now closed and we are working to return the artwork to artists and purchasers.
Ferens 2020 Open Exhibition – Update on artwork collection.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as museums and galleries across the country re-open following the Government lockdown imposed as a result of Covid-19.
We’re very pleased to update on the Ferens position as follows:
We re-opened to the public on Wednesday 22 July and are now embarking on the next stage of our plans which will involve the return of ‘behind the scenes’ teams such as curatorial and technical staff.
Once our teams are back on site the return of Open artworks will be a priority, but as with other activity such as visits, we first need to establish measures and process that will ensure public and staff safety at all times in line with the latest government guidance.
As soon as we are able to confirm the detail around the specific arrangements required for the return of Open artworks we will publicise them and contact artists direct by email (as we have done on previous occasions). We will also update the information we provide on HCAL website, on social media and by press release.
We hope you will understand and continue to bear with us. Re-establishing visitor access in line with government guidance, has been our first priority.
